Melbourne City Cultural Walk

Botanical gardens

About the Experience

Morning, afternoon or evening, this intimate walking tour allows groups of no more than 10 to explore the Royal Botanical Gardens. Listen and learn the traditional uses for the plants that surround you from a local Indigenous person. The experience moves at a leisurely pace that can be adjusted to suit all different needs (please note this is an appropriate track for wheelchairs and prams).

A morning tour can be upgraded to include a traditional smoking ceremony. The tradition of cleansing and welcoming people has been in Indigenous culture for thousands of years. You will see the plants used in the smoking ceremony on your guided tour and learn about why they have been specifically chosen for the ceremony.
